Vital Events are bringing the Half Marathon distance back to Southport with an entirely traffic free route that will see competitors Start and Finish in Princes Park take in a scenic run around the Marine Lake and under the Pier then traversing Kings Gardens before passing through Princes Park again and heading out along closed roads on Marine Drive and Coastal Road before turning back part way along Coastal Road to run through Victoria Park and head back to Marine Drive and under the pier before a final lap around the Lake and Kings Gardens then back into Princes Park to finish.

This is a fast and flat course with lots of PB potential! Car Parking will be available at Esplanade Car Park at the Eco Centre from 0730hrs with the event due to commence at 0830hrs.

Competitors will be asked to group themselves into the appropriate sections in the Start area according to expected time and electronic chip timing will be used to ensure all participants receive an accurate finish time.

The event will be run in accordance with UK Athletics Standards and Competition Rules. Age group prizes will be awarded to the 1st Male and Female for each category.

Detailed Competitor information will be emailed to all entrants 2 weeks before the event and race numbers will be posted out with timing chips attached 1 week prior to race day. 

All entrants will receive a £7 RedVenom.co.uk voucher that can be redeemed at the finish line on production of your official race number - all finishers will also receive a Southport Half Marathon 2013 Medal.
