Vital Events are bringing a new and exciting Open Water Swimming event to the North West Coast. Taking place within Crosby Coastal Park at the £10 million Lakeside Adventure Centre swimmers and spectators alike will be able to enjoy the fantastic facilities available including a Bar & Bistro overlooking the lake and even onsite accommodation if required – for more information click here http://www.crosbylakeside.co.uk/

The Marine Lake itself covers 24 hectares and is easily accessible immediately outside the centre with plenty prime viewing areas for spectators. Separated and sheltered from the sea by the promenade and sand dunes the lake is a haven for Open Water Swimming and will prove to be a popular venue. On the beach beyond the dunes ‘Another Place’ can be found – these spectacular sculptures by Antony Gormley consist of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea.

Car Parking will be available onsite throughout the event. Swimmers for each distance will be grouped together and started separately, electronic chip timing will be used to ensure all participants receive an accurate finish time. The event will be run in accordance with the Laws and Regulations governing Open Water Swimming as published in the ASA’s handbook.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female overall and Age Group Winners.
