Sold out in its 1st year - Summer 2014 will see Southport Half Marathon return with increased capacity and an improved traffic free route that includes a new start/finish area which will be exclusive to competitors and spectators in Victoria Park - for venue details click here

The new route which remains traffic free (but has had several turns and switchbacks removed to potentially make it even quicker) will start in Victoria Park before heading South along Coastal Road then returning along Marine Drive and into Fairway along Promenade and around the rear of the Theatre & Convention Centre, under the pier and through Kings Gardens, around the Marine Lake and under the pier again before returning to Marine Drive and the pier once more, then left at Weld Road Roundabout to return for a Finish in Victoria Park - Southport's finest (in our opinion of course!).

We believe this is an even faster course than in 2013 with lots of PB potential!

Car Parking will be available at Esplanade Car Park at the Eco Centre from 0700hrs with the event due to commence at 0900hrs.

Competitors will be asked to group themselves into the appropriate sections in the Start area according to expected time and electronic chip timing will be used to ensure all participants receive an accurate finish time.

The event will be run in accordance with UK Athletics Standards and Competition Rules.

Prizes will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Male and Female overall and Age Group Winners.

All entrants will have a choice of a custom designed technical T Shirt or a RedVenom bundle (2 of Water Bottle / Elastic Laces / Mutifunctional Headwear / Race number belt) and other goodies from our sponsors - all of which will be available to collect on race day on production of your official race number.

All finishers will also receive a custom designed Vital Events Southport Half Marathon 2014 Medal and a NouriSH Me Now natural recovery drink at the finish line.

Race numbers will be posted out with timing chips attached approximately 1 week prior to race day
